beginning of November, Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE: NOC)
Lake Charles Maintenance and Modification Center in Lake Charles, La., set a significant milestone
by attaining a zero incident rate for 1 million hours of employee
work. Personnel at Lake Charles
provide programmed depot maintenance for the U.S. Air Force E-8
Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS) and
contractor logistics support for the Air Force KC-10 Extender.

This is the first time the site has achieved this mark since
2003 and only the second time since the site opened more than 20
years ago. According to the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration, the aerospace industry averages eight day-away
injuries per million hours worked.
