ExxonMobil Pledges $250,000 to Dallas Red Cross Chapter as Part of Total $7 Million Commitment for Hurricane Assistance

ExxonMobil has committed $250,000 to the Dallas Area Chapter of the
American Red Cross to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina that have
arrived in North Texas. This grant is part of the $7 million
ExxonMobil has committed to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
ExxonMobil has also provided in-kind assistance to government
agencies in the form of fuel and lubricants. "Many ExxonMobil
employees and families have been impacted by this terrible
disaster, the full extent of which is still being assessed," said
Lee Raymond, chairman and CEO of Exxon Mobil Corporation. "Our hope
is that this additional funding will bring needed relief to the
families and their loved ones in communities facing unprecedented
challenges in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina." According to the
Dallas Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, approximately 25,000
victims of Hurricane Katrina will be seeking refuge in North Texas.
In addition to the monetary donation, ExxonMobil employees in the
Dallas area are collecting necessary supplies for local agencies
serving evacuees. For employees impacted by the hurricane,
ExxonMobil has established an assistance program which includes
interest-free emergency loans, advances in salary, paid time off to
attend to personal needs, and access to temporary transportation
