- Second Quarter and First Half
Results - On July 31, 2015,
Exxon Mobil Corporation announced its results for the second
quarter and first half of 2015. During the second quarter, the
Company generated total revenues and other income of $74.1 billion vis-à-vis $111.2 billion reported in Q2 2014. Net income
attributable to ExxonMobil was $4.19
billion in Q1 2015, which translated into an EPS of
$1.00 as compared to a net income of
$8.78 billion or an EPS of
$2.05 reported in Q2 2014. For the
first half of 2015, the revenues and other income totaled
$141.7 billion versus $217.5 billion reported in the same period a year
ago. The Company reported net income attributable to ExxonMobil of
$9.13 billion or an EPS of
$2.17 for H1 2015 vis-à-vis
$17.88 billion, which translated into
an EPS of $4.15 in the previous year
first half.
- Q2 2015 Operational performance - During the
second quarter, the Company produced about 2,291 kbd (thousand
barrels per day) of crude oil, natural gas liquids, bitumen and
synthetic oil, worldwide, which is higher than production of 2,048
Kbd in the prior year quarter. Asia led the growth by producing 685 kbd,
followed by Africa with a
production figure of 522 kbd. United
States produced 468 kbd with Canada/ South
America production figure coming in at 364 kbd. Europe saw production of 199 kbd and
Australia/Oceania rounded up with
53 kbd of production of crude oil, natural gas liquids, bitumen and
synthetic oil. Exxon's natural gas production available for sale
worldwide was 10,128 mcfd (million cubic feet per day) to which
Asia and the United States contributed 4,265 mcfd and
3,153 mcfd, respectively. Europe
produced 1,718 mcfd of natural gas with Australia/Oceania producing 722 mcfd. Natural
gas production in Canada/
South America was 262 mcfd and
that in Africa was 8 mcfd.
- Q2 2015 Business Highlights - The
Company began Bitumen production on schedule at the Cold Lake
Nabiye project expansion in northeastern Alberta, Canada. The expansion is producing
about 20,000 barrels per day and volumes are expected to reach peak
daily production of 40,000 barrels later this year. At the Kearl
oil sands expansion project in Alberta,
Canada, production started ahead of schedule doubling gross
capacity to 220,000 barrels of bitumen per day. The Company also
made a significant oil discovery in Guyana on the 6.6-million acre Stabroek Block
that is located 120 miles offshore.
