A joint venture including McDermott International Inc. (MDR) received a contract for the Golden Pass LNG export project on the Texas Gulf Coast.

McDermott, Chiyoda International Corp. and Zachry Group will provide engineering, procurement, construction and commmissioning services starting this quarter. They didn't disclose the exact value but said it is a "mega" contract, defined as above $1 billion.

On Tuesday, Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) and Qatar Petroleum announced the companies will proceed with developing Golden Pass in Sabine Pass, Texas.

Earlier Tuesday, McDermott also announced a gas-related contract with Australia's Woodside Energy Ltd.
