    EUROPEAN CAPITAL ANNOUNCES TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES  
      
    St. Peter Port, Guernsey - 13 June 2008 - European Capital Limited ("European
    Capital") (LSE: ECAS) announces that on 13 June 2008 it purchased from JPMorgan
    Cazenove Limited 50,000 ordinary shares at an average price of E6.35 per share.
    The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above
    purchase, European Capital Limited holds 1,551,438 ordinary shares in treasury,
    and has 106,812,816 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
