An announcement was made yesterday in respect of the recent merger between
Hartford Group PLC ("Hartford") and Montana Plc.  Hartford has confirmed with
the Office of Fair Trading ("OFT") that this is a routine procedure undertaken
by the OFT in respect of mergers.
