PEX SUBSIDIARY WINS EXPORT AWARD

Pex subsidiary Bridgedale 2000 has won the Northern Ireland Exporter of the Year
Award.

Northern Ireland Economy Minister John McCall said:  "Bridgedale 2000 is an
excellent example of a company which is meeting the challenges of a fiercely
competitive textiles and clothing industry head on".

"Over the last three years the company has achieved outstanding success.
Exports have grown by 129% over the past three years".

Bridgedale 2000 is Britain's largest manufacturer of outdoor socks for the
hiking and sports markets.  It specialises in highly complex socks technically,
that can contain as many as 15 different types of yarn, and which have an
average selling price of approximately #10 a pair.  The socks are exported to
most countries in Europe, and also increasingly to North America.
