announced today that it has commenced an underwritten public
offering of shares of its Series A Cumulative Redeemable Preferred
Stock (the "Series A Preferred Shares"). In connection with
the offering, the Company has granted the underwriters an option
for 30 days to purchase additional shares to cover overallotments,
if any. The Company has applied to list the Series A
Preferred Shares on the NASDAQ Global Select Market under the
symbol "AGNC PrA".
AGNC expects to use the net proceeds from this offering, in
conjunction with borrowings under its master repurchase agreements,
to acquire additional agency securities as market conditions
warrant and for general corporate purposes.
