BURLINGTON, Massachusetts and
SÃO PAULO, February 24, 2015
/PRNewswire/ --
Nextel Telecomunicações Ltda., one of the largest mobile network
operators in Brazil, is increasing
workforce productivity as it responds to increased demand for 3G
services nationwide using mobility and service optimization
solutions from ClickSoftware Technologies Ltd. (NasdaqGS:
CKSW).
Through the combination of optimized scheduling and real-time
mobility, Nextel aims to:
- Gain greater visibility into day-to-day operations
- Increase workforce productivity
- Complete more preventive maintenance tasks throughout the day
while also being able to respond to emergency tasks
- Balance service levels and operational costs in the face of
increased demand
- Reduce network downtime through optimized scheduling
Nextel's top priority is to keep its high quality customer
service as it expands its 3G coverage throughout Brazil where technicians are responsible for
repairing and maintaining its IDEN/3G infrastructure across the
country, and its new LTE/4G network in Rio de Janeiro. Moving from manual scheduling
to ClickSoftware´s solution will allow Nextel to significantly
increase productivity, scheduling a greater number of jobs per
technician per day, thus enabling the company to complete more
tasks in a week without expanding its current field workforce.
In addition, mobile connectivity through company-provided
devices will enable real-time communications between workers and
the back office, allowing Nextel to better respond to emergencies
during the business day.
"Our goal at Nextel is to provide fast, reliable service, and
moving to ClickSoftware will help us achieve this goal," said
MiRodrigo Rescia, manager for Network Operation Center at Nextel
Brasil. "It was important for us to choose a vendor with domain
expertise that would work with us to scale our operations."
"ClickSoftware enables service organizations like Nextel to
maximize value by balancing consumer demands, daily tasks,
emergency response and industry regulation," said Dr. Moshe BenBassat, founder and CEO ClickSoftware.
"Our deep industry knowledge and advanced technology that factors
in smart, predictive capabilities and real-time optimization and
communication will enable Nextel to deliver on its promised service
levels."
