Digital Domain Media Group (NYSE: DDMG) announced that Tim
Hanser, a former executive with the St. Louis Cardinals
organization, has joined the company to lead its initiative in
bringing its expertise in high-end digital production to sports
teams and venues.
Hanser spent 12 years with the St. Louis Cardinals organization
as part of the executive team following the 1996 purchase of the
team by a group of investors that included Hanser’s father, Vice
Chairman and Director Frederick O. Hanser. During his tenure with
the team, Tim Hanser held leadership roles in baseball
administration, international scouting, community outreach and the
development of the Cardinals new downtown ball park. He joins DDMG
from the apparel company A&E Group, where as president he
oversaw the launch of a new international brand of photo-real
shirts licensed by the NBA, MLB and NHL that sold nationwide.
Hanser began his professional career as a researcher for Missouri
Senator Jack Danforth in Washington, DC, and holds an Engineering
degree from Yale.
Hanser will lead business and strategic initiatives that
leverage the creative teams and technologies at DDMG’s Florida
studio to enable sports teams and venues to create experiences that
excite fans, honor teams’ legacies and iconic players in new ways
and take in-venue sports entertainment to the next level. The
company’s first productions resulting from this effort, created for
the New York Mets, are playing now at Citi Field in New York and on
MLB.com. See them here: http://www.ddmg.co/sports_venues
DDMG CEO and Chairman John Textor said, “Tim’s background –
having served both a major league sports organization and a
business that served fans’ appetite for team-related products -- is
an ideal combination for us as we create sports-related assets that
can be taken into venues and across a wide range of media
platforms.”
Hanser noted, “Digital Domain is an iconic company with some of
the world’s most spectacular film and advertising imagery coming
out of its studios. It’s a wonderful calling card to take to sports
teams and venues looking to give fans something new to inspire and
entertain them. I’m thrilled to be part of bringing this expertise
into a realm where I see so many opportunities.”
