1358 GMT - RWE AG and Equinor ASA are among the most talked-about companies across news items over the past 12 hours, according to Factiva data, after announcing a strategic cooperation to develop large-scale value chains for the production of low-carbon hydrogen in Europe. The two energy players plan to build new power plants in Germany that will be initially fuelled with natural gas and eventually hydrogen in order to strengthen security of supply across the continent and contribute to the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors. The partnership plans to build production facilities for low-carbon hydrogen in Norway and export hydrogen by pipeline from Norway to Germany. In the long term, the aim is to scale up production of hydrogen from renewable sources--also known as green hydrogen--such as from offshore wind farms. Dow Jones & Co. owns Factiva.
