A well-travelled scientist who is now back to good old
blighty. I've been dabbling in this malarkey for over
20 years, since i was a lowly post-doc, with many highs
and lows. I remember my first trading disasters as clear
as they were yesterday as well as the highs of the Dotcom
boom and the mining boom. I've owned stellar stocks that
have returned me huge sums (AVM, AAZ, SKP, MML) and given
it all back on some real dogs (POG by far the worse!) or
held too long or at the wrong time (MML, SKP/VEC, GSK, AZN,
BP.). I pretty much gave up trading for several years but
seem to have caught the itch again. I am strange in that
i like nothing better than reading financial reports and
delving through US regulatory filings to pick up detailed
information. I tend to remember things for years and have
been accused of being an analyst (heaven forbid!), a plant,
other posters and several other things over the years. I am,
and always will be, a PI in this field. I am a scientist
first and foremost. My job is to ask questions and then
investigate and study to find links and answers. It is in
my nature.
