    Hitchens Group plc

    ("Hitchens", the "Company" or the "Group")

    Change of Name

    Hitchens Group plc, the AIM-listed multi channel retailer, is pleased to announce it is proposing to change its name to Wallgate Group
plc ("Wallgate") and a circular has today been sent to shareholders and is also available on the Company website. 

    The name change is a commercial move to facilitate and develop relationships with suppliers and partners. Wallgate is the sourcing and
asset management division of the Group and the name change is expected to enhance credibility. We believe therefore that it is more
appropriate to change the Group's name from Hitchens Group plc to Wallgate Group plc.

The change of name of the Group to Wallgate Group plc is subject to the passing of a special resolution at the Group*s General Meeting to be
held on 12th June 2008. Until then the Group will continue to trade under its present ticker symbol (HIT/L). Thereafter, it is anticipated
that the ticker symbol will be (WGT/L). It is proposed that the name change and the ticker change will be effective from Monday 16th June
2008.
