CINCINNATI, Sept. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LSI Industries Inc. (NASDAQ:LYTS) today announced that its LSI Graphics Solutions Plus business unit has received another major order involving a national rollout program. International Dairy Queen, a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc., has tasked LSI Industries to manage, produce, and install approximately 5,600 indoor menu board replacements and 3,900 drive-thru outdoor systems for the Dairy Queen system throughout the United States and Canada. This major rollout for Dairy Queen's DQ(R) 20/20 menu board program will commence during LSI's third fiscal quarter and continue into fiscal 2008. What began with the formation of MORF (Menu Board Optimization & Redesign Force) which is a group of DQ franchises, corporate staff and business partners, moved to a significant pilot test consisting of more than 10 restaurants located through the United States and Canada that includes DQ/Brazier(R), Grill & Chill(R), Limited Brazier, DQ Texas Country Foods(R), and soft-serve-only locations. During the pilot test, feedback was received from both franchises and consumers that helped shape the menu board system. After an extensive qualification process, LSI Industries was selected to produce, install and provide logistical support for the new menu board program for the entire DQ system. As was stated in a recent Dairy Queen press release, "We conducted thorough research and cost analysis to evaluate costs including hardware, freight and installation," explains Bob Hynick, Vice President of Dairy Queen Concept Support Services. "We wanted to choose one company to deliver and install the menu boards in order to provide significant cost savings and save time." The Dairy Queen press release went on to say, "LSI Industries is an image solutions company, combining integrated design, manufacturing and technology to supply high-quality lighting fixtures and graphics elements for applications in the retail, specialty niche and commercial markets. The Company's graphics segment provides a vast array of products and services, including signage, menu board systems, active digital signage, decorative fixtures, design support and engineering, and project management for custom retail environment programs." Bob Ready, President and CEO of LSI, stated in the Dairy Queen press release, "The DQ system has a challenge in that there are many different types of restaurants all over the country involved in the menu board rollout," he states. "LSI has the depth and experience to make the DQ system's mission a success. We fit the needs of the system perfectly because of our size, financial strength, skilled personnel and the experience we have specializing in the development and installation of menu board systems," he continues. "We are truly excited about this opportunity and are committed to the success of this program." Commenting on the new business, David McCauley, President of LSI Graphics Solutions Plus, stated, "The DQ(R) 20/20 business once again demonstrates the world class capabilities of our graphics unit to manage and execute major programs on a national scale. Other major national re-imaging programs now or soon to be underway, include Chevron, Sunoco, CVS, and 7-Eleven. For the second time in the past twelve months, we are increasing our graphics capacity and capabilities. Our most recent addition, a new high-speed digital eight color press and an advanced CNC routing/cutting unit, will be installed at our North Canton, Ohio facility during the next 30 days. LSI's graphics segment is positioned for record operating results during fiscal 2007 and beyond." Robert J. Ready, President and CEO of LSI Industries, commented, "Naturally, I am very pleased with the new business and major national programs that our graphics segment continues to win. Similarly, our lighting segment business is strong as is our technology segment which is focused on solid-state LED commercial lighting. We remain confident and look forward to reporting record sales, net income, and per share earnings for fiscal 2007."
