Chesterford Research Park, UK, 22 January 2004 - BioFocus plc (AIM: BIO), the
integrated drug discovery company, is today holding a science and technology day
for investors, analysts and the press at its new chemistry facility in
Chesterford Research Park, Essex.

BioFocus will be presenting information on its unique approach to drug discovery
and growing pipeline of programmes. There will also be tours of the chemistry
and biology facilities.

BioFocus provides drug discovery products, programmes and services to the
pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, working with many of the world's
leading companies in these sectors.

BioFocus has demonstrated its capability to improve significantly the
productivity of drug discovery. BioFocus is building long-term value through
programmes from which the company will receive returns in the form of milestones
and or royalties. The number of such programmes had risen to 38 by the end of
2003.
