Kerry Group PLC said Tuesday that it has reached agreement to acquire around 92% of c-LEcta GmbH for 137 million euros ($154.9 million), and that it acquired Enmex SA de CV on Dec. 14 for EUR62 million.

The Ireland-based food company said the deal for c-LEcta, a biotechnology innovation company, is strategically important and will accelerate Kerry's innovation capabilities in enzyme engineering, fermentation and bio-process development.

Enmex is a enzyme manufacturer based in Mexico, supplying multiple bio-process solutions for food, beverage and animal-nutrition markets, Kerry said. Enmex's enzyme portfolio and manufacturing infrastructure will extend Kerry's fermentation and enzyme manufacturing capabilities into Latin America, it said.
