--Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. (WBA) said it may close some of its Boots locations in the U.K. as part of cost-cutting steps, the BBC reported Wednesday.

--On Tuesday, Wallgreens Boots said it experienced its most difficult quarter since the 2014 merger of Walgreens and Alliance Boots.

--There are 2,485 Boots stores in the U.K., with about 56,000 workers, the report said.

--Boots said it had no plans for major reductions, even as its parent company is reviewing stores across the globe, according to the report.
