Air New Zealand Ltd. (AIR.NZ) Deputy Chief Executive Norm Thompson said Thursday he expects the carrier's first 787-9 Dreamliner by Boeing Co. (BA) to be delivered by the end of the first quarter in 2014.

Thompson told Dow Jones Newswires the carrier will finalize the new Dreamliner's route by the first quarter of next year.
