                                  NEW DIRECTOR


Capricorn Resources Plc, the AIM listed mining and exploration company, has
appointed South African born Mr Moreti Johannes Motau (aged 51) to its Board as
a non-executive director.

Capricorn Chairman Phil Edmonds said:  "We are delighted that Moreti Motau has
agreed to join the Board. He has a tremendous in depth cognisance and
understanding of political and business relationships in Central and Southern
Africa and we're confident that through his expertise, experience and knowledge
of the region, he will make a significant contribution to the future success of
the Company."

Capricorn confirms that no other details are required to be disclosed under
paragraph F of Schedule 2 of the AIM Rules with respect to Mr Moreti Motau.
