ATK's System and Subsystem Content on the James Webb Space Telescope Expands

ATK's Total Contracted Backlog Now Exceeds $65 Million MINNEAPOLIS,
May 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alliant Techsystems (NYSE: ATK) is
now under contract to provide more than $65 million of key
components and subsystems to Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) for the
James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). The expanded scope and content
now makes ATK one of the largest sub-contractors for this vital and
historic scientific spacecraft. The company's backlog on the JWST
extends to 2009. The JWST is scheduled to launch no earlier than
June 2013. ATK will provide graphite fiber structures that support
the science instrument Optical Bench and the 6.3-meter diameter
primary mirror. In addition, the company provides thermal testing
for composite structures that characterize material behavior across
a wide spectrum of temperature differentials down to nearly 460
degrees below zero Fahrenheit. "ATK is a leading developer of
