Northrop Grumman Employees Mary Petryszyn and Katherine Medalle Honored at Society of Women Engineers Conference

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) employees Mary Petryszyn
and Katherine Medalle received awards this weekend at the annual
conference of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), held in
Nashville, Tennessee. SWE awards recognize individuals who enhance
the engineering profession through contributions to industry,
education and the community.

Petryszyn, vice president, global strategy and mission
solutions, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, received the Global
Leadership Award for outstanding contributions in engineering and
technical management in an international setting. She is
responsible for building Aerospace Systems sector's global presence
by developing and expanding programs and systems worldwide.
Petryszyn has worked with government and industry leaders across
the globe in markets including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark,
Germany, Greece, India, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, the
Republic of Korea, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
She is a fellow life member of SWE, serves on the SWE Corporate
Partnership Council and in 2005 she received the SWE Upward
Mobility Award for her contributions to the engineering field.
Petryszyn is also a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts and a
recipient of the 2000 Woman of Distinction Award from the Mile Hi
Girl Scout Council. She earned a bachelor's degree in electrical
and computer engineering from Clarkson University and a master's
degree in computer engineering from Syracuse University.
Medalle, director of airborne tactical sensors product support,
Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems, received an Emerging Leader
award for her active engagement in engineering and outstanding
technical accomplishments. She is responsible for international and
domestic customer support and sustainment of a Northrop Grumman
sensor providing mission critical support to customers. She has
supported sensors for many aircraft programs such as the KC-135,
F-15 and F-16.
Medalle is involved with Northrop Grumman employee resource
groups, as the chair of the Women's Initiative for Networking and
Success, and a board member of the Asian Pacific Professional
Network. She mentors Northrop Grumman engineers, Marquette
University female engineering students and high school students
through the Northrop Grumman High School Involvement Program. She
earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Marquette
University and a master's in product development from Northwestern
University.
