Allied Properties Real Estate Investment Trust (“Allied”) (TSX:AP.UN) announced today that it has completed its previously announced offering, on a private placement basis in certain provinces of Canada (the “Offering”), of $250 million aggregate principal amount of series J senior unsecured debentures of Allied bearing interest at a rate of 5.534% per annum and maturing on September 26, 2028 (the “Debentures”).

The Debentures were sold at par with a yield of 5.534% per annum on an agency basis by a syndicate of agents co-led by Scotiabank and RBC Capital Markets and including BMO Capital Markets, CIBC Capital Markets, Desjardins Capital Markets and National Bank Financial Markets. Allied intends to use the net proceeds of the Offering to repay short-term, variable-rate indebtedness.

The Debentures are rated “BBB” with a Negative trend by Morningstar DBRS. The Debentures rank equally with all other unsecured indebtedness of Allied that has not been subordinated.

The Debentures offered have not been, and will not be, registered under the United States Securities Act of 1933, as amended, or any state securities laws, and may not be offered or sold in the United States absent registration or an applicable exemption from such registration requirements.
