Item 8.01 Other Events

On January 13, 2009, Global Payment Technologies, Inc. (the "Company") intends to file Form 15, Certification and Notice of Termination of Registration under Section 12(g) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (the "Act"). This is a voluntary filing by the Company. The Company can cease being subject to the filing requirements of the Act (consisting of Forms 8-K, 10-Q, 10-K and proxy statements) and its directors, executive officers and certain beneficial owners can cease being subject to filing Forms 3, 4 and 5 and Schedules 13-G and 13-D since it has fewer than 300 record holders.

It is the intention of the Company that it will continue to report financial results and periodic information through press releases.
