HERE Wallet, the NEAR Protocol crypto wallet, and web3 security protocol HAPI have announced a joint venture to accelerate the development of user-friendly crypto solutions. As HOT Labs, the partners will focus on transforming web3 user experience to create accessible crypto products that support mass adoption.

Through combining HERE’s expertise in user-centric wallet development with HAPI’s strength in building secure decentralized services, HOT Labs aims to redefine the future of crypto wallets and blockchain infrastructure. The strategic partnership will enable HOT Labs to break new ground in user-centric crypto solutions that combine superior UI with robust infrastructure.

Led by HERE Wallet founder Petr Volnov and Yuriy Olentyr, HOT Labs draws upon the wealth of experience the two blockchain veterans have accrued in the industry. In addition to overseeing development of HERE Wallet, Petr is a leading figure within the NEAR ecosystem and has a background in AI. In 2022, he established HERE as a non-custodial wallet for NEAR Protocol, completing two rounds of funding and growing to over 600,000 active users.

In early 2024, HERE Wallet and HAPI launched HOT as an experimental, non-custodial wallet integrated into Telegram. Featuring an advanced interface and user flow, HOT was developed to offer a seamless crypto solution. This technical feat was made possible by Chain Signature technology, which enables smooth cross-chain swaps, link drops, and lays the groundwork for a unified currency that can be used for gas payments.

Petr Volnov said: “We are now ready to unite our teams into a single structure, HOT Labs, which will take over the entire group of products related to HOT Wallet. This long-awaited decision will allow us to work even more closely together and move forward towards new achievements and greater goals.”

HOT Labs will operate with a remit to enhance wallet design with the goal of harnessing emerging blockchain and AI technologies to deliver an optimum user experience. The creation of HOT Labs will free HERE Wallet and HAPI to create new crypto products that transcend any single platform, network, or ecosystem.

Operating as HOT Labs, the partners will focus on the development of new wallet-based services with user experience at their core. As a result, the barriers to onboarding to web3 will be driven down, making it easier for millions of users to interact with blockchain services while retaining full custody of their assets and benefiting from decentralized, secure infrastructure.
