                         Update on Directors' Holdings

SMC wishes to confirm that as a result of the successful completion of the Open
Offer, as announced on 16 January 2008, and the appointment of Christopher
Littlemore to the Board of SMC as Managing Director, as announced on 25 January
2008, the interests of the Directors of SMC in the ordinary share capital of the
