                             Director Shareholding

Urals Energy, a leading independent exploration and production company with
operations in Russia, announces that William R Thomas' shareholding in the
Company has increased by 430,144 ordinary shares.

These shares were initially granted as restricted stock on 25 January 2007, and
were to vest over a three year period beginning on 1 January 2008.  As part of
Mr Thomas' move to a Non-Executive Directorship, the Board revised the terms of
this restricted stock.

Application has been made for these shares to be admitted to AIM and it is
expected that dealings in these shares will commence on 4 May 2007.
