Grey Island Systems International Inc. (TSX VENTURE:GIS) is a leading provider
of real-time vehicle tracking, fleet management and predictive arrival systems,
marketed under the InterFleet and NextBus brands, for government and related
fleets in North America. GIS is pleased to announce today the financial results
for the first quarter of fiscal 2009 ended December 31, 2008.


First quarter revenue was $4.8 million for the 3 months ending December 31,
2008. Recurring revenues were $2.15 million, a 30.9% increase year over year.
The company incurred a net loss of $264,015 or $0.003 for the first quarter
ending December 31, 2008. 


"The recent economic downturn had a substantial impact on private sector
contracts, prospects, distributors and channel partners" said Owen Moore,
President of Grey Island, "The Company moved quickly to re-focus on direct
public sector contracts and opportunities and by doing so mitigated the effects
of the current state of the economy in the first quarter and expects to show
further near term improvement in financial results."

significant highlights related thereto.


- Revenue for the first quarter was $4.8 million.

- The Company had a net loss of $264,015 for the first quarter.

- Recurring service revenue increased to $2,15 million for the first quarter.

- US revenues account for $2.6 million of total Company revenue.

- As at December 31, 2008, the Company had $11.3 million in cash and short-term
investments.
