Gainey & Mckenna Announces that a Class Action Lawsuit Has Been Commenced on Behalf of Purchasers of DRDGOLD Limited NEW YORK, June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Gainey & McKenna announces that a class action lawsuit has been commenced in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York on behalf of purchasers of DRDGOLD Limited ("DRDGOLD") (NASDAQ:DROOY), formerly known as Durban Roodepoort Deep, Limited, securities during the period between October 23, 2003 and February 24, 2005 (the "Class Period"). The complaint charges DRDGOLD and certain of its officers and directors with violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Specifically, the complaint alleges that, throughout the Class Period, defendants made numerous statements regarding: (i) the successful restructuring of the Company's North West Operations in South America; (ii) the Company's ability to reduce the negative impact of the increasing value of the South African Rand versus the U.S. Dollar; and (iii) the increasing strength of the Company's balance sheet. Unbeknownst to the market, the Company's restructuring problems with its North West Operations were never fully resolved.
