The Board received notification yesterday, in accordance with sections 198 to
210 of the Companies Act 1985 (as amended), that on 18th September 2003
Caledonia Investments plc sold 975,000 ordinary shares of 5p each in the
Company. Following this Caledonia Investments plc's beneficial holding has
decreased from 8.94% to 0.11% of the Company's current issued share capital and
as such Caledonia Investments plc, no longer has a notifiable interest in VTR
plc.
