          Compulsory Acquisition of Outstanding MAMA Group Plc Shares 
HMV Group plc ("HMV") announces that valid acceptances in connection with the 
offer made by HMV for MAMA Group Plc ("MAMA") on 15 January 2010 (the "Offer") 
have been received in respect of more than 90 per cent of the MAMA Shares to 
which the Offer relates and more than 90 per cent of the voting rights attaching 
those shares.  Accordingly HMV is today issuing notices under s.979 Companies 
Act 2006 to MAMA Shareholders who have not yet accepted the Offer that it now 
intends to exercise its rights to acquire compulsorily all those MAMA Shares 
still outstanding. In the meantime, the Offer remains open for acceptance.
