The Company has today been informed of the following purchase on behalf of Mr
Richard Crowder, a Director of the Company:

- purchase of 10,000 ordinary 67p shares of the Company at a price of 460.0p on

15 December 2003

As a result of this purchase Mr Richard Crowder, a Director of the Company, is
now interested in 75,000 ordinary 67p shares of the Company (0.35% of the
issued class of capital).
