                            DIRECTOR SHARE PURCHASE


Alizyme plc (the "Company") received notification yesterday that the following
Director had become aware of the purchase of an additional 30,464 ordinary
shares of 2p each in the capital of the Company ("Shares") of which he is the
beneficial owner. These Shares were purchased as part of the Placing and Open
Offer completed on 20 February 2003.
