RESIGNATION OF NOMINATED ADVISER AND BROKER
Newmarket Investments PLC (the "Company") today announces that its nominated
adviser, Dowgate Capital Advisers Limited ("DCA"), and the Company's broker,
Dowgate Capital Stockbrokers Limited ("DCS") have resigned with immediate
effect.
Under AIM Rule 1, if the Company fails to appoint a new nominated adviser
within one month, the admission of the Company's shares to trading on AIM will
be cancelled by the London Stock Exchange at 7.00 a.m. on 30 November 2009.
The board announces that it is in discussions in relation to a potential
transaction in the leisure sector for which it would receive an introductory
fee from a third party, conditional on completion. Receipt of such a fee would
provide the Company with further working capital.
The Company's shares are currently suspended from trading on AIM due to the
Company's failure to publish the report and accounts for the year ended 31
March 2009 in accordance with AIM Rule 19. The resignation of the Company's
nominated adviser is a further reason for the continuing suspension of trading
in the shares.
The board is managing its cash tightly. However, until the Company receives the
fee mentioned above and is thereafter able to confirm its going concern status
to the satisfaction of the Company's auditors, the report and accounts for the
year ended 31 March 2009 will not be finalised.
A further announcement will be made as soon as possible.
