                    Trochus plc ("Trochus" or the "Company")

Since the disposal of its trading subsidiary on 30 October 2006, the Company has
been reviewing a number of opportunities to acquire other businesses. The
Company announces that it is currently in discussions concerning a corporate
transaction and the directors are hopeful that an acquisition will be completed
in the near future.

Trochus has, however, been unable to complete an investment that would result in
the Company having fully implemented its investing strategy as outlined in the
Company's announcement on 12 October 2006. Accordingly, trading in the Company's
shares on AIM has been suspended from 7am today.

In the Company's announcement dated 24 April 2007, the Board undertook to call
an extraordinary general meeting in order to consider the future of the Company,
should a transaction not have been completed by 30 October 2007. The Company is
required to hold an annual general meeting by 31 December 2007, and,
accordingly, the Directors may include resolutions in the notice of such meeting
as appropriate to the progress of any transaction.

Following suspension, if Trochus is unable either to complete a reverse
takeover, as defined by rule 14 of the AIM Rules for Companies, within six
months of the date of suspension, the Company's listing on AIM will be
cancelled. However, if the Company does either complete a reverse takeover or
implement its investing strategy within such period, trading in the Company's
shares may be restored.
