Dassault Systemes SE said Wednesday that operating profit and revenue for the first quarter increased, as the company issued guidance for the second quarter and slightly tweaked its full-year outlook.

Reporting on a non-IFRS basis, the French software maker said first-quarter operating profit rose to 397.4 million euros ($480.5 million) from EUR334.1 million in the first quarter of 2020, while operating margin increased to 33.9% from 29.2%.

Net profit rose to EUR301.2 million from EUR250 million.

Total revenue climbed to EUR1.17 billion from EUR1.14 billion, with software revenue rising to EUR1.07 billion from EUR1.02 billion but services revenue falling to EUR105.2 million from EUR121.4 million.

Dassault Systemes had expected first-quarter revenue of between EUR1.15 billion and EUR1.17 billion, and an operating margin of between 30.4% to 31.1%.

For the second quarter, the company targets non-IFRS total revenue of between EUR1.13 billion and EUR1.16 billion, and a non-IFRS operating margin of between 29.4% and 30.1%.

Dassault Systemes reiterated its revenue guidance for 2021, but slightly tweaked its operating margin projections. It now expects 2021 non-IFRS operating margin between 31.6% and 31.7%, instead of around 30.8% as previously indicated.
