BioFocus plc ("the Company")

Announcement 30th April 2003


The Annual General Meeting of BioFocus plc was held on 30th April 2003; all the
resolutions before the meeting were passed unanimously.

After completing the formal business the retiring Chairman, Norman Burden, made
the following statement:

"Today marks for me the end of nearly five years as Chairman of BioFocus.  My
first Chairman's statement referred to turnover for 1998 of #550,000, which was
a threefold increase over the Company's first year of trading but produced a
loss of #628,000.  I am bowing out with a 2002 turnover of #14.4m and a profit
of nearly #2.1m.

Clearly the Company has made great progress and I am confident that it will
continue and trading for the first quarter of 2003 has been close to budget.

Lastly, I should like to take this opportunity to thank all my colleagues at
BioFocus for their unfailing support since 1998, and in particular express my
special regard and gratitude to David Stone for his intellect, his unstinting
effort, his friendship, and his readiness to match me when needed in vigorous
debates.  I know that I leave the Company in very good hands."
